The Artesia High School Student Council sponsors Homecoming 2023 against the Lovington Wildcats
(school colors: royal blue and white) with the traditional Homecoming Parade scheduled for
Friday, September 22, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. Student Council asks this year’s participants to
create their entry around this year’s theme, A fat bulldog Friday; Take over Mardi Gras! All those who want to participate in the parade must officially register through the high school.

The deadline to participate in the parade is Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 3:30 pm.

Parade entrants will line up INSIDE BULLDOG BOWL PARKING LOT ONLY; rows will be
marked; and officials will assist entries. The parade will proceed east on Main Street to Second Street,
moving on the south side of the median only. At 2nd Street, participants will turn south to Richardson
Street, moving either to the high school parking lots or returning to Bulldog Bowl to disband.

Access to Bulldog Boulevard WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to anyone except the queen and her court
and the AHS Band. Personal vehicles will not be allowed on Bulldog Boulevard. PARENTS who have
children in the parade must park in the auditorium parking lot, then walk their children to the floats.
Access to the south side of the parking lot will not be permitted, except to parade entries. Assistants
will block entrances of the Boulevard and the Auditorium.

NOTE: City ordinance PROHIBITS throwing candy to the spectators, and city regulations require
those riding bikes, scooters, motorcycles, and four-wheelers to wear proper headgear and safety
equipment or be denied participation in the parade.
