Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham released an updated Public Health Order April 6, 2020, further restricting activity and commerce in the ongoing fight to slow or end the spread of COVID-19. Many essential businesses continue to operate in our community. Hotels are allowed to accommodate essential workers who are required to be here but do not have a permanent residence here.

Commissioner Jon Henry reports that, despite reports that Governor Lujan Grisham will allow for the early release of some prisoners, Eddy County Corrections will not be releasing any prisoners at this time. City Hall and all city-owned facilities are closed until further notice. If you need to conduct business with the City, please call 746-2122 to make an appointment.
Water bills may be paid at the drive-thru, via mail, or online. To pay via telephone, please call 833-271-0802. On March 31, 2020, the City approved a moratorium on water shut-offs for a period of 60 days. Payments will not be forgiven, but late payments will not result in shut-offs during this period.
Eddy County Commission’s regular meeting on Tuesday, April 7 has been cancelled. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 and will be livestreamed. In order to comply with New Mexico State orders, attendance at the meeting will not be allowed. Real ID compliance cannot be handled online, so you may make an appointment. The deadline for compliance has been extended to October 1, 2021.
