The Artesia Public Library is excited to announce that all residents of Eddy/Chaves county can now sign up for a digital library card from home. This card will allow individuals the ability to access our digital eBooks, eAudioBooks, eMagazines, electronic databases, music streaming service, online maps and recipes, newspapers, almanacs and more for free even if they have never had a library card.
The digital library cards will expire in 4 months, but may be renewed by contacting the library. When we open back up to the public, you may visit the library with a picture ID and proof of address to upgrade your digital card to a library card that will allow you to check out physical material. If you are under 18, you will need a parent or legal guardian to sign your application for a physical card. If you have previously had a card, you are responsible for any fines, fees and/or replacement costs on that card once we reopen.
Once individuals fill out the online application, a library staff member will EMAIL them their card number and sign in instructions for all of our resources. We are hoping that by opening this service up to the students and individuals of our community, we will help to not only engage but enrich their lives during this difficult time. Our doors may be shut, but we are here 24/7 online!
