Balloons & Bluegrass -- First weekend in November
Artesia's skies are filled with brilliant color and hot air while downtown rings with Bluegrass music from the region's finest musicians of the genre. Balloonists gather for early morning flights while community look on. We spend the rest of the day at the beautiful Derrick Floor park in downtown Artesia enjoying live Bluegrass music, arts & crafts and food vendors. The weather is beautiful and the events always prove to be a very eventful and yet relaxing weekend.
For an extra kick join us on Friday evening for a real Friday Night Lights football game when the Artesia Bulldogs take on Roswell. The game and all the activities surrounding it always prove to be an attraction!
Coming in 2010! Ocotillo Performing Arts Center in downtown Artesia features White Ghost Shivers on Saturday night! Often called the best of the "None-of-the-Above" category, White Ghost Shivers are indescribable and highly entertaining with New Orleans style "bawdville" music. This is a can't-miss show!
The 2010 Balloons & Bluegrass festival in scheduled for November 5-7.
