Greater Artesia Economic Development Corporation
The GAEDC board is the body of leaders serving as a recommendation board to Artesia City Council for economic development funding assistance to new or expanding businesses and other projects designed for local economic development that fall within the organization’s stated priorities. The GAEDC board is comprised of City of Artesia mayor and two city councilors, Artesia Chamber of Commerce executive director and two Chamber board members, and three at-large community members.
The fund created to support economic development projects is generated by half of a Local Option Gross Receipts Tax increment dedicated specifically to economic development and dictated by the City’s Economic Development Plan Ordinance (Ord. 646, 2-12-2002). Qualifying entities may apply for development assistance by submitting an application and other requested information to Artesia Chamber of Commerce.
