Artesia Quilters Guild 8th Annual Show
Artesia Historical Museum & Art Center, 505 W. Richardson Ave., is hosting the 8th annual Quilters Guild Show July 15 thru August 29. Museum hours are 9:00 a.m.-noon and 1:00-5:00 p.m. Tuesdays thru Fridays and 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Call 748-2390 for more information.
Kiwanis Club
The Artesia Kiwanis Club is selling raffle tickets $2 each or 6 tickets for $10 for a stainless steel BAR B QUE, worth $438. It is a 32' gas grill, 5 burners, rotisserie unit and side burner. Ladies, win this and get yourself out of the kitchen. If you don't win the BAR B QUE, how about second place? A 150 qt. cooler and two folding chair with trays. Domenici Public Policy Conference
August 20-22, 2008 Las Cruces, New Mexico
The Pete V. Domenici Legacy is a statewide effort led by New Mexico State University to honor Senator Pete V. Domenici’s contributions to the state of New Mexico and the country during his historic tenure in the U.S. Senate.
The goal is to establish a multifaceted project to honor Senator Domenici’s extensive work. The opening event for this project is the inaugural Domenici Public Policy Conference where scholars, students from Eastern New Mexico University, New Mexico State, New Mexico Tech, Western New Mexico University, and the University of New Mexico, leaders and friends of the Senator come to celebrate his impact on public policy.
